HOWDY AGS!

For all those former players that were not able to travel to College Station for the TAMVA Kickoff and alumni weekend, know that you were truly missed and we look forward to engaging with you in future events.  It was most definitely a memorable weekend of camaraderie and rekindling old friendships with former aggie volleyball teammates.    The weekend was filled with a variety of activities:   From the Friday night bar crawl, to the early morning golf scramble, the afternoon tailgate and grass volleyball on Simpson Drill Field, to the Banquet Dinner, each offering a different opportunity to engage in conversation and activity with old friends and new acquaintances alike.   Make sure to visit the TAMVA webpage - www.TAMVA.org and check out all the banquet photos, see video presentations, and review new options to upgrade your TAMVA memberships now.

While the reconnection with old teammates was a primary draw for many, the introduction Vision and Future Initiatives of the Texas Aggie Men’s Volleyball Association (TAMVA) as well as the Induction of the Inaugural Class of the Texas Aggie Men’s Volleyball Hall of Fame capped off the weekend.  (See recap below for more details. )

There seemed to be a shared interest and excitement for the vision that TAMVA Board of Directors presented at the banquet to engage in the future of what TAMVA is setting out to accomplish with the aim of providing opportunities to a younger generation of boys and men as well as enhancing the opportunities for our own Aggie Men’s Volleyball team.  We will be sending out a poll to all TAMVA members in the coming days to help gauge the level of engagement that each of you are interested in so that we can target our communications and requests accordingly. 

As shared in the presentation, we have opened multiple new TAMVA membership levels for you to participate.   Many members took advantage immediately completing your membership upgrade, while others are still reviewing the best option.

As a reminder your Membership profiles were lapsed so that we could open up the new membership levels for you to consider.   We would love for you to consider supporting TAMVA organization with one of the newly created membership levels, and choosing the recurring level would automatically ensure you have annual contribution setup with no action to take.   The membership level contributions are tax deductible.  If you do not feel you have the capacity at this time, make sure to renew your initial membership level – Former Player $0, so that you are ACTIVE in the directory and receiving updated communications to keep you updated on our future activities.  You can view your membership level options by clicking the JOIN NOW button below and signing in with your login credentials and you should see the new membership levels. in TAMVA and help us keep all the volleyball alumni engaged and involved. TAMVA Kickoff Presentation Highlights

The Texas Aggie Men’s Volleyball Association (TAMVA) is an organization of people whose lives were impacted by playing volleyball as a part of the team while attending Texas A&M University. We have a shared vision to give back to the world around us through the sport of volleyball and our alma-mater. Established in Nov 2021 Received official IRS designation as 501c3 Nonprofit organization VISION To promote the sport at the collegiate level by supporting the Texas A&M Men’s volleyball club team. To promote the sport at a local level through camps, tournaments, and promotion to youth boys throughout Texas. To preserve and promote volleyball teaching, education, officiating, organizing and playing opportunities for boys and men’s volleyball participants in such ways as the Board of Directors determines and in accord with the inherent values of sport. ACTIONS Social Outreach – Happy hours, Dinners, Tailgates, Alumni Weekend Networking – Aggies helping Aggies, Combine skills & resources to help fellow aggie volleyball players, Business Networking Opportunities Connections with Current Team – Stay connected and support the current team activities and schedule Financial Support – Scholarships for current/future players, team meals at nationals, travel support, coach recruiting support, snazzy uniforms Grow Boy's / Men's Volleyball – Grow the Game, Boy's Camps, Boy’s Tournaments,  Promote high school boy’s volleyball

Texas Aggie Men’s Volleyball Hall of Fame -  Inaugural Class of 2022

Nominees were considered based on multiple selection criteria including:  (1) Playing ability, (2) Contributions to the club/team, (3) Leadership, (4) Character, (5) Integrity, and (6) Continued contributions to volleyball  The Class of 2022 HOF members inducted include: Steve Larwa - Class of 1993      Jon Rye - Class of 1997   Landon Carpenter - Class of 2002    Mike Popp - Class of 2002
